Run, don’t walk! Brooks Ghost 12 Running Shoes

Style is a priority for me. But comfort is, too. One without the other is like bread without butter…..No, thank you!!

If you are new to my blog, the short story is that I have incredibly high arches that needed custom orthotics this year. Helloooo 35! Ha. Seriously. So high arches call for a quality shoe to exercise in. Actually, any foot requires a quality shoe to exercise in….So take note, because I’m here to help!

My brother and sister in law started running together a few years ago and swore by Brooks running shoes. They were regulars at their local running store and learned that Brooks Ghost was the shoe that all the top runners wore! It provided superior comfort, support, and cushioning. At the time, I was wearing Asics but the quality was slowly going downhill. So I ordered a few different Brooks styles from my favorite shoe store, Zappos, and decided to keep the Brooks Ghost.

By now I’m on my third pair of Brooks Ghost running shoes and they are comfortable and super high quality! I’ve had two podiatrists recommend them to me because of my foot problems, and since they have removable insoles, I can slip my custom orthotic insoles inside and they fit great.

Each year Brooks comes out with different colors. So this year…I ended up getting two since during my “foot problem” time I thought I might never wear non-running shoes again. (Pretty much ruining my life, and whatever future dating life I’d envisioned for myself!) Luckily I’m able to wear normal shoes again AND walk 3 miles a day in my Brooks Ghost. So that’s a success story in itself!

This year’s style is Brooks Ghost 12, and I have a pretty blue pair, and this gorgeous Vanilla Sprinkles pair that has rainbow ribbon laces and is so cute!

As for sizing, I would say size up. I need to go up almost a full size (11.5, eek!) because I like more room in the toe area during a workout.

Pricing: Yes, they are pricey. But they are so well made that you will wear them for a long time. They will be more than a cute workout shoe, they will be the foundation of your workout! Zappos occasionally has sales or you can find them here on Amazon.
