Celebrating YOU this Mother’s Day with a *magical* Hylete hoodie & the cutest activewear!

But I love being a mom! Enter Mother’s Day. Because it’s next Sunday! It’s a bit different after divorce, right? For me, it’s the 3 of us. My modern day little family that I love with all my heart… BUT, it’s not really a Mother’s Day full of rest and relaxation. It’s more a day of active momming! And if I’m actively momming, or just doing my simple fitness routine– I want cute activewear! Like…

A “How To” during Quarantine: Develop an Active Lifestyle at Home
So it’s get fit or get fat time – or a bit of both . (The brownies that I baked disappeared in 2 days, 🤷♀️. And my kids were gone for the weekend, so I can’t even blame them!) But despite my increased brownie consumption, my fitness routine hasn’t changed at all over the past 2 weeks. Why not? Well first off, I’m not a gym person. I never have been; the atmosphere is not relaxing, nor is slugging it out on a stationary machine for 22 minutes…. Classes? Well, I used to love yoga, but after having kids, it became too much. Too much time. I’ve realized that heading to…

4 Minute Mom Makeup Routine: The Essentials
After I did my initial 10 minute makeup routine, I got a few requests for a 5 minute makeup routine. Hello mom life, after all!! Then my friend with 3 kids gave me the ultimate challenge: a 2 minute makeup routine. Challenge accepted! So yesterday morning, at 7:40 (school starts at 8 a.m.!), I was scrambling and thought, I’ll video right now and see what I can get on in under 5 minutes. 8 Tips to Simplify (or Restart) Your Makeup Routine
One of the biggest struggles for us Moms is having a makeup routine that works in the tiny amount of time that we have to get ready. This was a HUGE struggle for me when I had two under two. It took me a while to figure out what I had time for, and what I didn’t. But after complaining to a friend that I didn’t have enough time to put on eyeliner, I realized that I was being a tad dramatic – it didn’t take THAT long eyeliner, right? Maybe I could just figure out a better system! Plus, every day I’d look in the mirror and be horrified,…

Wrinkles Wrinkles go away…
Maybe you were a sun worshipper like I was….growing up in San Diego, I was always at the beach, trying to get my fair skin the darkest it could be. Not the smartest move, but with age comes wisdom, right? While I may have attained a good tan each year, all that sun damage is now coming back to haunt me! The “laugh lines” in my forehead are starting to set in, deep dish style. And while I love deep dish pizza, I do not want deep dish wrinkles in my forehead at 35! I thought about botox, because it seems to be the best solution, but it’s also creepy…

2020 – This year is for blooming!
Are you a planner person? Usually this question gets an affirmative “yes” or a definite “no”. People either LOVE using a planner and get a new one each year, or they just fly by the seat of their pants. (And then of course, there are the super organized people like my friend Kelly who knows the ins and outs of every way to stay organized, but she is kind of an organizing guru….) Well as much as I love technology, for some reason I need to use a paper planner that I can easily keep on my desk. I use it to write down our daily schedule, to-do lists, and…

Are you letting fear interfere?
Don’t let the fear of falling (or failing) stop you! I took my two children to family camp with our church this past weekend and it was a great learning experience for all of us. The kids had a blast running around our cabin with 6 other kids, they grew in their faith, they canoed, made candles, drank endless cups of hot chocolate, and my daughter climbed the tallest rock climbing wall I’d ever seen! She had excitedly talked about it all week, but then changed her mind after putting on the helmet and harness. After sitting and watching everyone else for 10 minutes, she changed her mind again and…

Don’t go big, go small….
Last night I took the kids to the PB Pumpkin patch https://pbpumpkinpatch.com/. Yes, it’s “at the beach”. Well, it’s really in a parking lot close to the beach, but it’s super cute and the ground is covered in hay. And it was deserted, which was perfect! You might wonder why I didn’t go to one of the more popular patches in San Diego? Well, just between us, convenience is one of my top priorities nowadays. I refuse to drive 40 minutes east to fight the crowds for a pumpkin. My other reason has to do with my life. Going through a divorce and becoming a single mom has made me…
